Melanie grew up dancing at many studios in the Kansas City area. She danced on the Benedictine College Dance Team from 2006-2008, then moved on to perform and choreograph for the University of Notre Dame Dance Company. She continued dancing at Avila University and graduated in 2011 with a degree in English Literature.

 

She began teaching dance in 2007 and never looked back!  When her students attended Nationals in 2010 and 2017, her small groups took first place in their category. Melanie loves helping her students improve their technique and grow their love of movement. Her favorite styles to teach are Contemporary and Jazz.

 

She has a Master's Degree in writing for children and young adults. She has three young boys with her husband, along with their two dogs. She is excited to be a part of Lorna's Studio of Dance!
